The Los Angeles Lakersare looking for someone to play alongside Anthony Davis and LeBron James, and it appears they’ve landed on Julius Randle as a possible target.
Although Randle averaged 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game last season, his numbers were a step down from the year prior.
The 27-year-old won the NBA Most Improved Player Award thanks to his play in the 2020/21 season, in which he averaged 24.1 points per game and 10.2 rebounds.
As a result, the Knicks expected Randle to take the reins of the team. Instead, he struggled, while New York failed to make the playoffs after finishing the year with a 37-45 record.
As a result, the Knicks are now said to be open to reshaping their roster.
Donovan Mitchell is the key
For all of this top happen, some other moves have to happen first.
NBA insider Marc Stein reported the Lakers could pursue Randle if the Knicks were to land Donovan Mitchell in a trade with the Utah Jazz.
