Following the investigation published by The Daily Beast pertaining the release of undisclosed court documents, new reveals about Johnny Depp’s actions and his legal team prior to the Amber Heard trial have left the “Edward Scissorhands” in a bad light.
Heard’s team argued in the unsealed court documents that Depp ” produced multiple partial audio recordings that begin and end in the middle of a sentence,” that metadata from photos and audio submitted by Depp as evidence “reveals the items were ‘Modified’ days before their production in this case,” and that metadata ” indicates the recordings were created in September 2015 and then modified in June 2016, and again one day before their production, but Depp only produced the modified version. This raises significant concerns of manipulation, alteration, and deletion.”
The full audio of these conversations was consistently denied to Heard’s team. Heard’s team claimed that the photographs Depp produced from Heard purportedly showing scratches and bruises on his person had “Create and Modified” dates that were years after the alleged incidents took place.
According to Team Heard, one photo had a creation date of 7/24/2019, another had no creation date but a “Modified Date of 7/4/2020,” and yet another’s “‘Creation,’ ‘Modified,’ ‘Received,’ and ‘Sent’ Dates are July 22, 2019, despite Mr. Depp claiming this picture was taken in March 2015.”
There was “no ‘Creation’ or ‘Modified’ date metadata and lists the ‘Sent’ and ‘Modified’ dates as July 3, 2020” in another photo Depp submitted of an alleged injury.
Heard’s team also hired Julian Ackert, an iDiscovery Solutions forensic expert, who under oath claimed to have examined the metadata of Depp’s submitted evidence and discovered “anomalies that call into question the authenticity of the multimedia documents,” including “instances where the date metadata, such as creation and date metadata, is either missing or is significantly after the alleged date of the incident.”
Digital evidence manipulation may be evident when creation dates are missing or when modifications have dates that are later than the events. Heard’s bruised face was depicted in original photos that she submitted, according to Ackert’s testimony in court.
Embarrassing details revealed
Depp’s team fought hard to have any “references to and evidence regarding Marilyn Manson” excluded because they believed it would “smear Mr. Depp under a guilty by association theory,” among other things. In the end, the court granted Depp’s request to have all references to Manson removed.
One other detail pertained the possibility of Johnny Depp suffering from erectile dysfunction. This is relation to the sexual violence he claimed to have suffered during his relationship with Heard.
