The new Atlanta Hawks “Big 3,” comprised of Trae Young, Dejounte Murray and John Collins, put on a show on Sunday at The CrawsOver, combining for 103 points.
After Sunday’s game, Hawks fans should be excited for the future of the franchise, with Murray’s arrival making them NBA title contenders.
In 2021, Young led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they came up short against the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks.
Even though this past season saw Atlanta get eliminated by the Miami Heat in the First Round, they are now poised to at least reach the Conference Finals.
Young (37), Murray (39) and Collins (27) combined for 103 points in Sunday’s game, with Ice Trae adding 13 assists.
Murray grabbed nine rebounds and dished out seven dimes, while Collins recorded 17 boards.
Hawks “Big 3” will be must-watch TV
Last season, both Young and Murray were among the league’s best point guards.
Young led the NBA in both scoring and assists, a feat that had only been done once in history — by Tiny Archibald in the 1972-73 season.
After Sunday’s game, Young took to Twitter to warn the league, writing, “I hope ya’ll ready. We’ll see you soon.”
Murray had an All-Star season with the young San Antonio Spurs side but it failed to translate into winning.
Combining these two forces that are Young and Murray, while adding Collins and Clint Capela to the mix, the Hawks will be must-watch television.
