Babcock graduates 110 first class

Babcock University, Illishan, Remo, Ogun State, has produced a total of  2,011 graduates, out of which 110 had First Class at the recent 20th undergraduate and 11th post-graduate convocation.

Speaking at the convocation, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, added that the institution recorded the highest number of postgraduate candidates in the session.

He said, ‘‘We have 159 PhDs, 312 Masters and Master of Philosophy candidates bringing the total to 471.’’

Tayo advised the graduands to be an active voice of peace and justice, saying that they should build others up for the kingdom.

‘‘Do not go where the path may lead go where there is no path, commit yourself to the truth, pledge yourself to the study of the scripture,’’ he advised.

Convocation guest speaker, Chief Executive Officer, AXXESS, U.S.A,  Mr John Olajide, encouraged the students to be patient and hardworking.

‘‘Remember, whatever hardship, or challenges you face, you will overcome if you are hardworking and stay focused. I make use of every opportunity I see.  We all have unique gifts and how we treat clients, and communities are important. You have to adopt a learning mindset by leaving your comfort zone,’’ he said.

Pro chancellor,  Dr Robert Osei-Bonsu, also said, ‘‘You have been molded with intellectual strength today, keep challenging yourself to be the best.’’

Chancellor, Pastor Yohanna Harry, congratulated the graduands and advised them to be good ambassadors of the institution.

The best graduating student of Babcock University, Illishan, Remo, Ogun State, Miss Damilola Idowu, said she deleted all her social media accounts to allow her achieve the Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.91.

Another graduand, Myron Sotunde, received the President’s Award for having the overall best performances at undergraduate programs in leadership, academics, community and spiritual services.
