The Cristiano Ronaldo saga has taken yet another turn, this time outside the world of European football. The Portuguese forward is currently at a dead end with the doors of Europe’s elite clubs slammed shut.
However, Ronaldo‘s situation at Manchester United seems untenable. Facing the prospect of playing Europa League football for the first time since the 2002/03 season, the forward is desperate to find an Old Trafford exit.
With Ronaldo publicly stating that he wants to leave the Premier League club, he has received offers from around the world.
There was talk of a multi-million dollar bid from Qatar, though this was quickly dismissed, and now it appears that Brazilian giants Corinthians are interested in signing the forward, with the club’s president sending Cristiano a very public message.
“It’s true, I’m dreaming big. This is Corinthians! Aren’t Willian and Renato Augusto here?” Duilio Monteiro Alves said in an interview with the Ulissescast program.
“In football everything is possible, and I have the obligation to do my best for Corinthians.
“Is it possible? I don’t know. We haven’t tried yet, we haven’t looked into it, but we are keeping an eye on it. Imagine if he suddenly wants to play in Brazil.”
