In the town of Nappanee, Indiana, four people died in a car crash at SR 19 and SR 119 close to the city this Wednesday. One of the people who perished is the well-known Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski, who was a fierce supporter of all the conservative causes and agenda pushed by Republicans.
As soon as he found out, Senate Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy reported the news through his social media accounts. Walorski was an Indiana native who had been involved in politics for decades and currently represented Indiana‘s 2nd Congressional District. She had been active as a politician in her state since 1991, after leaving her career in television.

According to reports from local news outlets, the crash took place at 12:32 p.m. on Wednesday and it involved two vehicles close to the intersection of SR 19 and SR 119. Inside the SUV where Walroski was riding, Zachery Potts and Emmat Thompson were also killed.
The person who was driving the other vehicle was also pronounced dead at the scene, she has been identified as 56-year-old Edith Schmucker from Nappanee, Indiana. Walorski was 58-years-old and she was outlived by her husband, Dean Swihart. Both parties of the political spectrum lamented her untimely passing for she was a fierce advocate for many causes she believed in. She was also an honorable servant of her community.
Despite her political views that leaned to the right, many of her adversaries from the Democratic party expressed their condolences. Even Secretary Pete Buttigieg wrote the following statement: “I’m shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski.
“My thoughts and prayers are with her family and the other victims of this terrible crash. Though we came from very different places politically, she was always prepared to work together where there was common ground, always decent and straightforward, and she cared deeply about her work and her constituents.”
