Edinson Cavani‘s time in Europe is coming to an end. The Uruguayan forward is on the verge of returning to South America to join Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
Cavani‘s Manchester United contract ended on June 30 and he had offers from a number of European clubs, including LaLiga Santander side Villarreal.
The player, though, is excited by the idea of playing for Boca, according to Uruguayan jounalist Diego Munoz.
His signing by Boca would make Cavani one of the biggest signings in the history of Argentine football, with the striker having an enormous reputation in South America and Europe as well.
Cavani is expected to join Boca on an 18-month deal, seeing him through fro the remainder of the 2022 season and until the nd of the 2023 campaign as well.
His aim is to get to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in peak physical health and form in order to be at his best for Uruguay.
In the past, Cavani revealed that Boca are his favourite team in Argentina, which is sure to go a long way to exciting the fans at La Bombonera even further.
